There are also a variety of abrasives you can use for various blasting jobs. S&H Industries supplies several different abrasives depending on the surfaces you are working with:
- ALC Mix #1: used when removing paint and rust
- Coal Slag: removes paint and rust from steel
- Aluminum Oxide: recycles well and leaves a smooth textured finish with no pits or burs
- Glass Bead: creates a satin or matte finish
- Steel Grit: fast cutting on rusty metal and hard-to remove paint
- Plastic Grit: strips paint, light oxidation, and surface rust
- Walnut Shells: used on soft surfaces where no pitting is desired
- Corn Cob: leaves a smooth, dull finish on soft applications
- Garnet: recycles well, leaves a smooth textured finish similar to Aluminum Oxide
